Dear Readers:

In putting this site together for your information--and hopefully, also for your edification--we keep learning more about our chosen open source content management system: Joomla. If you’d like to learn more about this environment and its multitude of add-ons, you can start your exploration at www.joomla.org. There, the main menu section includes a good overview section (What is Joomla?) as well as a pretty comprehensive list of frequently-asked questions, or FAQ.

For our parts, what we’d like to understand is how interesting or potentially useful do you find a system like Joomla? Given its Open Source status, it’s free to grab and use. Though there is a learning curve and some areas of potential difficulty involved in its use, we’re hoping you’ll find it interesting enough to tell us to tell you more about it here on this Web site. If you’d like more Joomla information, and perhaps even a blog on our ongoing Joomla adventures (this is not the first time we’ve used this toolset to run Web sites, nor is this the only Web site for which we’re currently using Joomla), we’d be happy to tell you more, and share our learning with you.

In fact, we’re open to your input and feedback in many areas—particularly, as regards the book around which this site is built: HTML, XHTML, and CSS For Dummies, 6th Edition. But we’re also open to input, suggestions, and critiques about this site, our choice of tools, and anything else you might care to share with us. Shoot us an This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or join this site and post to the message boards available in the Community section here.

Thanks in advance for your input, information, and support!

--Ed--

Note from the webmaster: This site is running Joomla v1.5 with a number of nifty add-ons, including Community Builder and the Fireboard Community Forum. We created the site template based on the "legacy" structure, so it's something of a Frankenstein under the covers! Never a dull moment... -Rebekkah
