MP3 Loader

A Personal Entertainment Software Tool

This program is currently in design and development as part of my first venture as an Independent Software Vendor (ISV). I've signed up for membership in a Microsoft developer program that requires me to produce a product to be eligible for participation. So, I'm working with longtime collaborator and expert hacker Justin Korelc, and he and I will produce a utility that's designed to work with Windows Media Player, Windows Media Edition, and WinAMP in both Windows XP and Vista versions, to let users build collections of music specifically sized to fit their MP3 players.

We expect MP3Loader to appeal primarily to those who, like me, have smaller but very portable MP3 players (I've got a older but still very servicable RIO 256MB player that can accommodate about 25-50 songs at reasonable compression rates) that they want to load up with tunes before a run, a workout at the gym, a bicycle ride, or whatever suits their needs.

We expect to be developing MP3Loader over the course of 2009. At the same time, I'll be reporting in my developer tips for SearchWinDevelopment.com about how Microsoft's program works, what benefits it provides, how much it costs, and other key aspects of this interesting offering from Microsoft called Empower as time goes by. We have some other product ideas on the drawing board, primarily in the area of what might best be described as "personal information security." We'll be using Visual Studio 2008 and Visual C++ as our primary tools, with other add-ins as appropriate. For more news on MP3Loader, and these other nascent offerings, please stay tuned!
